Llandudno is only 4.5 miles away from our properties and is a wonderful Victorian town that is well worth a visit. A great visit is to the oldest Punch and Judy show in Great Britain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s such a great historical story!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richard Codman, a travelling showman was stranded in Llandudno in 1860 when his horse died. He collected driftwood from the beach and hand carved the Punch & Judy puppets, the very same puppets you still see today.From 1860 to 1863 the show performed within the town of Llandudno but in 1864 gained approval from Lord Mostyn to perform on Llandudno promenade and has done every summer season for over 150 years. The show is now in the care of the 5th generation of the Codman family. Codman’s Punch & Judy is a tradition Victorian style show including all the slapstick fun. What is the point of carrying on tradition if its not traditional? Codman’s Punch & Judy only continues through the audience’s kind donations, why not come along, enjoy the show, try the photo booth and maybe buy a souvenir.That’s the way to do it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
